(FortniteTM, Epic Games) Fortnite is a free-to-play battle royal game available on pretty much every device, from gaming consoles to mobile devices, if it can play games, it’ll likely have Fortnite. It’s no wonder it has seen huge success with millions of active players at any given time. Like any popular game, it has not been without its controversies. Many reports of addiction have been published over the last few months such as from  the Mirror  reported that a 9 year old girl was so addicted to the game that she wet herself to continue playing and has been admitted to rehab for treatment. Similar  articles  have been published detailing how damaging the game can be to children, all with a common theme; blaming Fortnite for being “ too addictive ”. Virtual reality is a budding technology which offers a new way to experience movies, pictures, and games. These three virtual reality headsets each have their similarities and differences . If you’re in the market for a virtual reality headset, then there are a few things to consider. Display PSVR: 1920x1080 HTC Vive: 2160x1200 Oculus Rift: 2160x1200 The PSVR has a lower display resolution compared to the other two VR headsets at only 1920x1080, this means you’ll be getting 960x1080 per eye compared to the 1080x1200 you’d get in the Vive and Rift. The higher resolution per eye means a reduction in the screendoor effect which can lead to nausea and eye strain. Most of us are aware of the eternal struggling of pulling ourselves away from our favourite series. "Just one more episode!" we say to ourselves at 3am as we watch the rest of the season whilst we snack down on a whole tub of Ben and Jerry's. The people of the past believed that by the 21 st  century we would have hover-cars and teleportation, but at the current time, this is not the case. However, some of the technological advancements we have experienced in the last 16 years have surpassed even the wildest expectations of the time. We have mobile computers that fit in our pockets which have more power than all of NASA in 1969 at a much cheaper price. There is also the burst of consumer grade VR technology in the recent years such as the Oculus Rift and the PSVR. These pieces of amazing technology are far more innovative and powerful than comprehensible at the time. Yes, we may not yet have hover-cars, but we are ever closer to self-driving cars which are becoming more and more affordable. The Switch is Nintendo’s up and coming console, which has been confirmed to be releasing in March 2017. The actual date is unknown and is set to be announced at the Nintendo Switch presentation in Tokyo on the 13 th of January 2017, as well as the price. Nintendo has released this statement to those not able to make it to the presentation: “To be able to tune in live, visit http://www.nintendo.co.uk/switch on the 13th of January, Friday, at 5 A.M. CET / 4 A.M. GMT to hear about the new Nintendo Switch details.” The rumour mill has been churning ever since the announcement trailer was released on the 20 th of October, 2016. Prices rumoured have ranged from £200 to £300 with a UK retailer offering pre-orders for £198.50 with a price-lock promise. Other rumours have said that the Switch will feature a USB type-c port.
